How often would I need to volunteer?
It is up to you how often you volunteer; however, we request a minimum of once per month. But why wouldn´t you want to join us more than that? Bringing education and entertainment to the preschoolers of our community is amusing and gratifying!
What time of day and How long are the volunteer shifts?
Most shifts are 3-4 hours on weekday mornings or afternoons.
We do have opportunities for drop off and/or pick up, of the bus, that require less of a time commitment; as well as, some weekends and special event shifts.
Would i require a special license to drive the bus?
No! You would only need a Class 5 Driver´s License, with a clear Driving Abstract. We also require a Criminal Record Check and some training time with our head driver.
I am unable to commit very far out, could I still get on-board?
Yes! We would be happy to have you join as either a scheduled or on-call driver. The stops are posted before the end of month, for the following month.
Community program assistants will be paired with specific programs, and so scheduled shifts are required.
Where are the stops?
We have stops from Saltery Bay to Lund, including: Texada Island, Tla´amin Nation, The Music Academy, James Thomson Elementary School, Sunset Park, Larry Guthro Park, Town Center Mall, The Fire Hall, Community Events and more! Come and join the fun!
